Sloth Bears

Sloth bears can easily be identified by their long light-coloured muzzles and shaggy black coats that help them keep warm and prevent their favourite food, ants and termites, from biting their skin. These bears love to climb in the forest, but they are also found in the drier grasslands and rocky regions in India, Nepal, Sri Lanka and other area in the region.

Sloth bears were used as 'dancing bears' across India, and together with Wildlife SOS, Free the Bears established a sanctuary for these exploited animals.
