Mokiup is one of our greatest success stories, rescued from a tiny cage in 2004 in atrocious conditions with a padlocked chain around his neck. Covered in sores and starved, he was in such a poor condition he was affectionately named Mokiup (pronounced mook-yup), which roughly translates as "ugly-face" in Cambodia's native language, Khmer.
Over a decade later and no one would call him that! Mokiup is now a beautiful and trusting bear, always putting on a show for visitors, happy in the knowledge he is cared for and always safe from harm, thanks to our supporters.
By sponsoring Mokiup, you will be contributing to providing for his daily needs - a healthy diet, health checks, enrichment activities and a forest enclosure. We will post you a letter containing a special sponsorship certificate with a photograph and information about Mokiup and the satisfaction that you have helped to make a difference.
