Our beautiful 2024 wall calendar features 12 rescued bears enjoying a safe, healthy, happy & enriched life at our rescued bear sanctuaries. We hope these gorgeous survivors provide inspiration & joy to you throughout every day of 2024. The calendar displays one month per page (double A4 when open).

Many of the bears we rescue were taken as cubs and have spent years in cages. They never learnt survival skills, some have disabilities, and they’ve come to rely on humans. They won’t be able to be released and will require lifelong care.

We strive to give these bears the best possible life, to keep them healthy and happy, free from stress and suffering, and let them exercise natural behaviours. They have gorgeous bear houses where they love to escape the heat of the day and sleep at night, as well as large, natural enclosures, often filled with the type of forest they would be enjoying in the wild, allowing them to forage, climb and dig just like wild bears. We “enrich” their environment to encourage them to explore and interact with their surroundings, stimulate their highly intelligent minds, and give them choices to help them feel more in control of their environment. This ultimately leads to healthier and more content bears. Enrichment can take the form of enclosure furniture such as climbing platforms, swimming pools, hammocks, caves and swings. Or challenges and activities such as scent trails, puzzle feeders, treat balls, toys, or even a mirror. Even daily scatter feeds, where carers hide the food throughout the enclosure, will help to enrich the lives of the bears. The pictures in this calendar show just some of the enrichments the bears enjoy, all thanks to your kind support. Have a wonderful year.
