A ROARING start for 2019 RESCUES
2019 is off to a ROARING start for rescues. Our Laos team rescued two moon bears (Laos Rescues #67 & #68) on February 18. We'd been fighting for 18 months to rescue these two! Watch our Facebook page for updates. Meanwhile in Cambodia, a young sun bear (Cambodia Rescue #205) and moon bear (CR#206) were rescued in January. They're recovering under the expert care of our Cambodian team.
Laos Rescue #66, nicknamed Mary Christmas, is on the road to recovery after she was almost lost forever to the illegal wildlife trade. As with most of our rescued bears, Mary will require lifelong care. To help us provide this care, we need to build a base of regular donors. Please register as a monthly donor (even a small monthly donation can make a big difference to the bears).
2019 will be a busy, exciting and challenging year. The new Wildlife Hospital (Luang Prabang Wildlife Sanctuary) and Vet Clinic (Cat Tien Bear Sanctuary, Vietnam) need equipment and, even with a new bear house in Laos completed in January, our sanctuaries in Vietnam and Laos require additional enclosures to house current and future rescues.
