Schools & Youth

Get young people wild about wildlife!

Join our Education Team for a fun and fascinating educational experience at Free the Bears sanctuaries. Free the Bears hosts local and international youth groups of all ages for 1 to 5 days at our rescued bear sanctuaries. We provide tailor-made schedules packed with engaging and interactive lessons, games and activities focussed on wildlife, the environment and the basics of conservation and sustainability.

Working towards a brighter future for bears through education

Utilizing a hands-on approach to environmental education, we invite youth groups to help the bear care team in preparing food and making toys and treats for the bears such as bamboo logs, grass baskets and treat balls.

We provide an interactive experience where young people meet the sun bears and moon bears at the heart of our project. They'll go behind-the-scenes and learn what Free the Bears does to care for bears at the sanctuary and learn more about our work to protect bears in the wild. Kids can get their paws dirty and find out what it takes to care for endangered bears!

PLEASE NOTE: No direct contact between visitors and the rescued bears is allowed and students are supervised at all times.

Fun & interactive education spaces

Our Bear Den & Bear Discovery Centres are interactive classrooms which provide the perfect place to stimulate young minds on environmental issues, featuring colourful displays and self-learning areas. We use these spaces to conduct fun and engaging lessons, games and activities involving art, drama, debate, science and maths, all designed to improve wildlife & conservation awareness.
