Adopt our sunny girl!

Meet our 148th rescue in Laos, a bear who has faced more than a bear ever should.
Captured as a tiny cub, she was originally destined for the restaurant trade. Thankfully, her story took an unexpected turn when she was bought by another person, but her new life was far from the freedom she deserved. She was kept alone in a 2.5-metre metal cage at the back of a shop, with little opportunity to behave as a bear should.
But then, after reading about Free the Bears' largest cub rescue, her owner contacted us and made the decision to surrender her into our care. It was the moment this young sun bear’s life finally began to change.
Since arriving at Luang Prabang Wildlife Sanctuary, she has blossomed. She is living alongside other sun bears in our new Bear House 12, specially designed with their natural needs in mind, including tall trees, climbing platforms and plenty of space to explore.
Her journey is a powerful reminder of what a second chance can mean.
By adopting her, you'll be supporting her specialised care, healthy diet, veterinary treatment, enrichment and beautiful forest habitat.
You'll get to name her, and we'll send you a sponsorship certificate and updates about your bear every March and September.
We would also love you to come and visit!
To adopt and name her, we ask that you cover the annual cost of basic care, which amounts to AU$250 per month, or AU$3,000 per year (GBP£1,650 / US$2,000 / EU€1,900).
We're looking for adoptive parents who see this as a long-term commitment and wish to continue supporting their fur-child on an annual basis. You can choose to make monthly, bi-annual or annual instalments.
