Urgent appeal: help us rescue this young Sun Bear

Right now, a young male sun bear is living in a small cage outside of Vientiane. He was likely stolen from the wild as a cub by a wildlife trader, after his mother was killed, and then sold into the pet trade.

We believe he has been caged for two years – years he should have been exploring the wild and learning from his mum.

He has been unable to climb, forage, or express the natural behaviours that are essential to his wellbeing.

We urgently need your help to bring him to safety at the Luang Prabang Wildlife Sanctuary. There he will receive expert veterinary treatment, a healthy diet, and the long-term care he will need after his time in the illegal pet trade.

Each new arrival means an additional 2000kgs of food per year, bigger bear houses and more. With over 300 bears already in our care, every donation counts towards looking after this sweet boy.

Please help us rescue and care for this young bear.
