Urgent appeal: Help us rescue 3 bear cubs caged in Laos
Authorities in Laos are working to confiscate three bear cubs from the illegal wildlife trade.
We don't yet know much about the condition, age, or history of these bears, but a Free the Bears rescue team has hit the road immediately to bring them back to the safety of Luang Prabang Wildlife Sanctuary.
They look to be only a few months old, and are being kept in wire frame cages alongside other wild animals such as a macaques and two tiny gibbons that we are also working to rescue with the help of our friends at Lao Conservation Wildlife Trust.
Please donate if you can. Every contribution makes a big difference to our small charity.
These bears will need:
Feeding and cub supplies
Warmth and monitoring day and night
Specialist veterinary care
Dedicated bear carers with cub-raising experience
They will likely need sanctuary protection and care for the rest of their life, which could be 30 years or more.
Please donate if you can, every contribution no matter how small will helps us to care for them.
