Jingle Bears! New 'Bears Print' is here
Great news - in the past month we've rescued another 4 bears in Laos and Cambodia, bringing us to 20 bear rescues for the year (17 for Laos, a new record). Click here to learn about the latest rescues and all the recent developments at our sanctuaries in the new edition of our bi-annual newsletter, Bears' Print.
Bears are very intelligent creatures. To keep their complex minds challenged, we provide them with enrichment on a daily basis. Specially made for bears, treat balls are stuffed with vegetables and other treats. The bears will lie on their backs and roll the ball around, using their long tongues and claws to extract the treats, peering into the ball with one eye to see if there is anything left inside. Treat balls are definitely one of the favorite enrichment activities of the bears - but sadly we don’t have enough treat balls to go round.
Make it a Beary Merry Christmas! In recognition of increased rescues and growing bear care needs, treat ball producer Aussie Dog (www.aussiedog.com.au) has offered us a special offer for Christmas 2019 to clear stock. Click here to send a Christmas Treat Ball gift to a rescued bear for only AUD$40. You'll make a bear happy for many years to come (limited stock available).
Our State Support Groups in Australia have staged many fun and successful events of late - quiz nights, a Bollywood dance, sausage sizzles, a dolphin cruise and an upcoming petanque garden party (Adelaide), to name a few. Thanks to everyone who has helped and attended. We welcome everyone to future events - you'll meet a lovely group of kind and caring bear lovers.
We're also urgently looking for volunteers to help our teams in Sydney, Melbourne, Hobart, Brisbane and Darwin, or wherever you live!
