Adopt LR116

Laos Rescue #116 was rescued from central Laos in November of 2022. She'd been kept in a cage as a trophy 'pet' for almost 6 years. She was in relatively good physical condition at rescue. We were also able to rescue a monkey at the same time of her rescue.

Since rescue she has been integrated with 2 other female sun bears at our Luang Prabang Wildlife Sanctuary, Panda and Mary Christmas (star of the BBC docuseries Bears About the House). The 3 girls also share with a juvenile male named Facebook, although he will be separated soon as he approaches sexual maturity. LR116 is a gorgeous gentle but shy bear, still recovering from the traumas of her past.

By adopting LR116, you will be helping provide for her daily needs - a healthy diet, health checks, enrichment activities and a lovely habitat with climbing platforms, caves, swimming pools and hammocks. You'll get to name her, we'll send you a sponsorship certificate and send updates every March and September and of course we'd love for you to come and visit her.

To adopt and name LR116 we ask that you cover the annual cost of basic care, which amounts to AU$3,000 per year (GBP£1,650 / US$2,000 / EU€1,900). This covers a healthy diet, vet treatment, enrichment activities and more. We're looking for adoptive parents who see this as a long term commitment and wish to continue to support their fur-child on an annual basis. You can choose to make monthly, bi-annual or annual installments.

Watch her rescue below, which occurred during a week when we rescued bears in Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam, all within the same week (only the 2nd time in our history this has happened, both within a year of each other).
