    Important information:

    • Free the Bears does not supply transport to/from Cat Tien National Park. Buses from Ho Chi Minh City are available.
    • Please make sure you allow plenty of time to arrive to the Cat Tien National Park Visitor Centre before the 08:00 or 13:30 start time for the tour. Feeding times are set and a late arrival may mean you miss out. Cat Tien National Park is accessed with a ferry river crossing which may require some additional time.
    • You will be required to pay an entrance fee to Cat Tien National Park of VND 60,000 per person. The cost of the ferry is included in the entrance fee. Free the Bears does not benefit from the entrance fee, nor do we have the authority to waive the fee for Free the Bears visitors or volunteers.
    • Direct contact with the bears is not possible under any circumstances - these are rescued wild animals & we want them to enjoy as natural a life as possible.
    • We advise to bring closed footwear suitable for walking in the forest, sunscreen, hats, mosquito repellent, reusable water bottle and raincoats in the rainy season.

We are an award-winning tour on Tripadvisor, holding a Traveler's Choice Award & Certificate of Excellence. Here's what some of our visitors have had to say:

"The team who showed us the facility were both professional scientists, who were able ( in perfect English ) to explain all about the bears ( interesting fact bears can alter their gestation time ). the workings and objectives of FTBs. As well as seeing the background support facilities we also helped prepare food for the bears and then watch them forage for it. It was a really fascinating insight into the workings of FTB who are doing amazing work here and in other parts of Asia", Howard

"This place is truly remarkable. I spent an incredible week volunteering at Cat Tien, and it was an exceptionally rewarding experience. The committed staff, the sanctuary itself, and, of course, the beautiful bears, whose lives transformed from being bile farmed living in a tiny cage to sanctuary, have left an unforgettable memory in my heart", Chi
