Seripheap means freedom in the Cambodian language. This beautiful sun bear was handed over to monks in the northeast of Cambodia in 2010 as a young cub. Initially she wandered freely around the temple grounds but as she grew bigger she became aggressive & was confined to a small metal cage where she remained for several years until her rescue in 2016.
Despite being fed the wrong diet, she was in surprisingly good health when she arrived at our Cambodian Bear Sanctuary, although she remained aggressive towards every bear she met for several years & had to live alone until recently, when she finally made some friends.
By sponsoring Seripheap, you will help to provide for her daily needs - a healthy diet, health checks, enrichment activities and a lovely forest enclosure with climbing platforms, caves, swimming pools and hammocks. We'll email you a sponsorship certificate and send updates every March and September. Freedom!
To sponsor Seripheap is AU$420 / GB£240 / US$336 / EU€264 per year - you can choose to make monthly, bi-annual or annual installments.
